The Paintings: My work has always included the mystical and sacredness in all life. As an Artist my themes often reference our historical places of ceremony.  My studies in Buddhism and the Mayan Culture have offered me a worthy path to connect with the divine beings and accept the opportunities to be changed by them. I have encouraged others to connect with the four aspects of themselves as I see it, being the Warrior, Healer, Artist, and Visionary. We all have these facets in our character.  Within the time and space to examine these attributes we all can move   easily to find ourselves as sacred human beings on this earth walk and into the worlds of our dreaming of our future self.

Since the 2012 countdown of time, many of us have welcomed the new levels of participation in the reverence of life and nature.  I choose to feel more connected to the world of nature by creating art and using ceremony to create a realm for healing and dreaming.

We all are Dreaming our life awake and the simplicity of being  Earth bound at this time is giving all of us an opportunity to make positive changes in what we want to see for the future of mankind.          Etznab

In the past we have deepen our lives through evolutionary struggles, and now we can emerge into our full potential.  Once we can see beyond our own sense of self-imposed limitations we can move into this space which allows for the communion of souls. I find, and wish for you to find, likeminded people on this journey into our future.  Transport your consciousness!  Raise your sense of self to its highest vibration that aligns with God, the Universal Source, Creator, Spirit, and Divine Beings; whatever your personal words are for this deep connection with Creation. For me it is through art and ceremony, and personal altars I build. This connection creates sacred space and allows the fullness of creation to become all of the possibilities. In all the realms, the inner and outer worlds are interrelated to reflect to each other. As you shift your perceptions to your outside world, you will shift your response.  This is the mystical element of you.  You are in-tune with the movements and impulses of the bigger world, which then must respond in an expansive and supportive way. You are healed.  Everything is alive with energy. By gaining a much deeper connection with the natural world, you develop a richer, multi-faceted relationship to this source of power within.

Art like Shamanism may be thought of as a system of knowledge that comes from a process of seeing with the heart for the purpose of accessing spiritual guidance, leading to a balanced and a healthy, fulfilled life. Balance happens when what you think, say and do are the same.

IX shaman      This is IX – Shaman  This painting reframes the work with the letters I and X under the sun which radiates the spots of the jaguar.  The jaguar sits just beyond the shamans pipe with the raven sitting on his back, long considered another symbol attached to the shaman.  The other support of the X is the foot of the jaguar.

Imix      Imix is the Dragon, the vortex, the initiator that sets everyone into the spinning of the web.  Here I have painted the pronghorn antelope part of the medicine in my family lineage.  The tangled center of the painting represents the vortex and spinning.   Three feathers was the name of the man assisting at the vision quest the red wool blanket with the cowries shells wrapped the sacred bundle.  The Quetzal bird flew in with me as I was just returning from Guatemala.      Original water color 20″ X 26″

Etznab      Etznab the Mirror is a painting of the Chihuahua desert. Here the shaman marks the path of the blue deer where the foot prints clears the path for the plant medicine.
